      Äà ïîòîìó ÷òî ×àê Áåððè òàê è îñòàëñÿ áû çíàìåíèòîñòüþ â ÷åðíîì ãåòòî, åñëè áû íå Ýëâèñ Ïðåñëè. Èìåííî îí ñäåëàë ðîê ìóçûêó ïîïóëÿðíîé â òàêèõ ìàñøòàáàõ. Îí èçìåíèë âñå ìóçûêàëüíîå íàïðàâëåíèå ñâîèõ ëåò. Áëþçìåíû è ïðî÷èå ÷åðíîêîæèå ñòàëè ïîïóëÿðíûìè èìåííî ïîñëå Ýëâèñà, êîãäà Ýëâèñ ñòàë ýòî âñå èñïîëíÿòü (íå çàáûâàåì ïðî Ìàðòèíà Ëþòåðà Êèíãà, ïîÿâèâøåãîñÿ ëèøü â 60õ). Ýòî æå áûëà ïî÷òè ðåâîëþöèÿ äëÿ Àìåðèêè òåõ ëåò. Èìåííî Ýëâèñ ïîçíàêîìèë áåëóþ Àìåðèêó, à âìåñòå ñ íåé è îñòàëüíîé ìèð, ñ ÷åðíîêîæèì áëþçîì. Èìåííî Ýëâèñ íà ïåðâûõ ïîðàõ ïðîñëàâèë ýòó ìóçûêó è äàë åé ïóòü íàâåðõ è ÿ âîîáùå íå çíàþ íè îäíîãî áëþçìåíà ìèðîâûõ ìàñøòàáîâ, êîòîðûé íå ïðèçíàâàë áû ýòîãî. Îí ëîìàë âñå ñóùåñòâîâàâøèå òîãäà ñòåðåîòèïû. È ñëîìàë âåäü! ×òî óæ ãîâîðèòü î ïåðôîìàíñå. Äóìàþ, çäåñü è áåç îáúÿñíåíèé ïîíÿòíî.

      Âñå-òàêè ýòî óäèâèòåëüíî.... Åùå â êîíöå 50õ-íà÷àëå 60õ â Øòàòàõ öàðñòâîâàëà ñåãðåãàöèÿ, áûëè îòäåëüíûå ìåñòà â òðàíñïîðòå "äëÿ ÷åðíûõ", áûëè îòäåëüíûå âõîäû â çäàíèÿ "äëÿ ÷åðíûõ"... à â 2008 ãîäó ñòðàíà èçáèðàåò ñåáå ÷åðíîêîæåãî ïðåçèäåíòà.

          ÿ äóìàþ, ýòî ôèãóðà ðàñêðó÷åííàÿ, è ïðè÷èíà â ýòîì ïðåæäå âñåãî. Ïðè÷åì ðàñêðó÷åííàÿ òîëüêî â îäíîé îòäåëüíî âçÿòîé ñòðàíå - ýòî òàì ó íèõ åñòü äâîéíèêè, ïàìÿòíûå ìåñòà è ïð.

            Çäåñü íàäî áû ïîèíòåðåñîâàòüñÿ, êàêîâû òâîè êðèòåðèè ëó÷øåãî âîêàëèñòà. Èìåííî àêàäåìè÷íîñòü âîêàëà? Íó, âîò ÿ âîîáùå ñ÷èòàþ äëÿ ðîê ìóçûêè ýòîò ìîìåíò äàëåêî íå ñàìûì ñóùåñòâåííûì.
            À îíè îäíè - äèàïàçîí, ìîùü, òåìáð, âëàäåíèå âîêàëîì (ò.å. ìàñòåðñòâî, âèðòóîçíîñòü).

              Äà êàêàÿ òàì "îìåãà"?? Ðàñêðó÷åííûé àðòèñò êîòîðîãî ðàñêðó÷èâàþò äî ñèõ ïîð. Òèïè÷íî àìåðèêàíñêèè ïðîäóêò.Çà åãî ôèãóðîé ñòîÿëî êó÷à èìïðåññàðèî êîòîðûå äåðæàëè íîñ ïî âåòðó è âîâðåìÿ ïîíÿëè ÷òî ïóáëèêå íóæåí áåëûé ìàëü÷èê ïîþùèè ÷åðíûå ïåñíè òîìíûì ãîëîñîì.Ýëâèñ ýòî áîëüøå êóëüò,à ñåé÷àñ ýòî âîîáùå áðåíä äëÿ çàøèáàíèÿ ìèëëèîíîâ.

                  In 1943, Haley joined his first professional group, the Cousin Lee Band (a Wilmington, Delaware-based country music group) as a guitarist and yodeler. In 1946, Haley joined a Pennsylvania-based western swing band called the Down Homers run by Kenny Roberts. It has often been reported in musical reference works that Haley's first professional recordings were made with the Down Homers on a pair of singles released in 1946 by Vogue Records. This was later debunked by Roberts and others, stating Haley had already left the group by the time the singles were made. In the early 2000s, however, a set of 1946 radio recordings by the Down Homers were discovered and Haley is definitely present as he is identified by name and sings a solo number "She Taught Me to Yodel"; these recordings were commercially released for the first time in 2006.

                  When Haley gigged and became experienced on the professional music front, he created several groups. These included the Four Aces of Western Swing and the Range Drifters. With the Four Aces, he made some country hit singles in the late 1940s for Cowboy Records while working as a touring musician and, beginning in 1947 as musical director at WPWA. (Many of Haley's early recordings from this period would not be released until after his death.)

                  After disbanding the Four Aces and briefly trying a solo career using the names Jack Haley and Johnny Clifton (as chronicled in the biography Sound and Glory), Haley formed a new group called The Saddlemen in either 1949 or 1950 (sources vary as to the exact year); this new group recorded for several labels, including one single for Atlantic Records.

                  Haley was signed to Dave Miller's Philadelphia-based Holiday Records in 1951 and began to change musical styles, recording Rocket 88 (originally by Jackie Brenston and His Delta Cats), and in, 1952, "Rock the Joint", previously recorded by several bands including Jimmy Preston and His Prestonians. (By the time of "Rock the Joint", Haley had graduated from Holiday Records to Miller's larger Essex label.[5] The relative success of these recordings (both sold in the 75,000-100,000 copy range in the Pennsylvania-New England region) made Haley believe that the combination of rhythm and blues, along with country could be successful.

                  In 1951 Haley crossed paths with The Treniers while playing in Wildwood, NJ. After writing "Rock a Beatin' Boogie" The Treniers used the song in their live shows, and Haley arranged for the song to be recorded by two bands: in summer 1952 it was covered by the Esquire Boys (a band that featured Haley session guitarist Danny Cedrone), and in 1953 by The Treniers. Haley and The Comets did not record their own version of the song till 1955.

                  During the Labor Day weekend in 1952, The Saddlemen were renamed Bill Haley with Haley's Comets (inspired by a popular mispronunciation of Halley's Comet), and in 1953, Haley's recording of "Crazy Man, Crazy" (co-written by Haley and his bass player, Marshall Lytle although Lytle wouldn't receive credit until 2001) became the first rock and roll song to hit the American charts. Soon after, the band's name was revised to Bill Haley & His Comets.

                  In 1953, a song called Rock Around the Clock was written for Haley (Dawson 2005). He was unable to record it until April 12, 1954. Initially, it was relatively unsuccessful staying at the charts for only one week, but Haley soon scored a major worldwide hit with a cover version of Big Joe Turner's "Shake, Rattle and Roll," which went on to sell a million copies and became the first ever rock'n'roll song to enter British singles charts in December 1954 and became a Gold Record. Haley and his band were important in launching the music known as "Rock and Roll" to a wider, mostly white audience after years of it being considered an underground genre. When "Rock Around the Clock" appeared behind the opening credits of the 1955 film Blackboard Jungle starring Glenn Ford, it soared to the top of the American Billboard charts for eight weeks, launching a musical revolution that opened the doors for the likes of Elvis Presley. The single is commonly used as a convenient line of demarcation between the "rock era" and the music industry that preceded it; Billboard Magazine separates its statistical tabulations into 1890-1954 and 1955-present. After the record rose to number one, Haley was quickly given the title "Father of Rock and Roll," by the media, and by teenagers that had come to embrace the new style of music.

                  "Rock Around the Clock" was the first record ever to sell over one million copies in both Britain and Germany and, in 1957, Haley became the first major American rock singer to tour Europe. Haley continued to score hits throughout the 1950s such as "See You Later, Alligator" and he starred in the first rock and roll musical movies Rock Around the Clock and Don't Knock the Rock, both in 1956. His star was soon surpassed in the USA by the younger, sexier Elvis, but Haley continued to be a major star in Latin America, Mexico, and in Europe throughout the 1960s.
                  Chuck Berry is an influential figure and one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. According to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's website, "While no individual can be said to have invented rock and roll, Chuck Berry comes the closest of any single figure to being the one who put all the essential pieces together." Cub Koda wrote, "Of all the early breakthrough rock & roll artists, none is more important to the development of the music than Chuck Berry. He is the first and one of its greatest early songwriters and guitarists, the main shaper of its instrumental voice and one of its greatest performers." John Lennon was more succinct: "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry'."

                  At the end of June 1956, his song "Roll Over Beethoven" reached #29 on the Billboard Top 100 chart.

                  In 1956 Berry toured as one of the "Top Acts of '56". He and Carl Perkins became friends. Perkins said that "I knew when I first heard Chuck that he'd been affected by country music. I respected his writing; his records were very, very great." As they toured, Perkins discovered that Berry not only liked country music, but knew about as many songs, and Jimmie Rodgers was one of his favorites. "Chuck knew every Blue Yodel", and most of Bill Monroe's songs as well. Perkins remembered, "He told me about how he was raised very poor, very tough. He had a hard life. He was a good guy. I really liked him." [17]

                  In the autumn of 1957 Berry joined the Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, and other rising stars of the new rock and roll to tour the United States. The hits continued from 1957 to 1959, with Berry scoring over a dozen chart singles during this period, including the top 10 U.S. hits "School Days," "Rock and Roll Music," "Sweet Little Sixteen," and "Johnny B. Goode." Author/producer Robert Palmer wrote that Berry’s songs tended to feature country and western inflected light blues melodies, along with plenty of guitar twang. He also had a taste for the "Spanish tinge", as in "La Juanda" and "Havana Moon".

                  Berry appeared in two early rock 'n' roll movies. The first was Rock Rock Rock, released in 1956. He is shown singing "You Can't Catch Me."[18] He had a speaking role as himself in the 1959 film Go, Johnny, Go! along with Alan Freed, and was also shown performing his songs "Johnny B. Goode," "Memphis, Tennessee," and "Little Queenie."

                    In spite of the facts that Nat King Cole had the #2 song in 1950, and the #1 song in 1951, and Chuck Berry had a major hit with "Maybellene" in 1955, in the United States in the 1950s legal segregation and discrimination against African Americans was common. Presley would nevertheless publicly cite his debt to African American music, pointing to artists such as B. B. King, Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup, Jackie Wilson, Robert Johnson, Ivory Joe Hunter, and Fats Domino. The reporter who conducted Presley's first interview in New York City in 1956 noted that he named blues singers who "obviously meant a lot to him. [He] was very surprised to hear him talk about the black performers down there and about how he tried to carry on their music." Later that year in Charlotte, North Carolina, Presley was quoted as saying: "The colored folks been singing it and playing it just like I’m doin' now, man, for more years than I know. They played it like that in their shanties and in their juke joints and nobody paid it no mind 'til I goosed it up. I got it from them. Down in Tupelo, Mississippi, I used to hear old Arthur Crudup bang his box the way I do now and I said if I ever got to a place I could feel all old Arthur felt, I’d be a music man like nobody ever saw."[4] Little Richard said of Presley: "He was an integrator. Elvis was a blessing. They wouldn’t let black music through. He opened the door for black music."[5] B. B. King said he began to respect Presley after he did Arthur "Big Boy" Crudup material and that after he met him, he thought the singer really was something else and was someone whose music was growing all the time right up to his death.[6]

                        Êàê èçÿùíî Äèàíà îáîøëà Áèëëà Õåéëè è åãî òâîð÷åñòâî, çàìåòèëè?

                        Èãðàë ëè ×àê äëÿ ÷åðíûõ, áåëûõ, çåëåíûõ, ãîëóáûõ - êàêàÿ õðåí ðàçíèöà?

                        Â îáùåì, òóò áûëî ñêàçàíî äâà óòâåðæäåíèÿ:
                        1) Ýëâèñ áûë ïåðâûì ðîêåðîì
                        2) Ýëâèñ áûë ëó÷øèì è ñàìûì êðóòûì

                        êàê ìû âèäèì, îáà îíè íå ñîîòâåòñòâóþò äåéñòâèòåëüíîñòè
                        çà ñèì, åñëè ïî ñóùåñòâó âîçðàçèòü íå÷åãî, ëó÷øå íå ðàçâîäèòü îôôòîï è âåðíóòüñÿ ê Ãåíåçèñó

                        êòî çíàåò, îíè ùàç äåëàþò ÷òî-íèáóäü?
                        âðîäå Êîëëèíç íå íàñòîëüêî ñòàðûé, ÷òîáû óéòè íà ïåíñèþ

                          Çàïèñàë íå òàê ìíîãî, áûñòðî çàáîëåë çâåçäíîé áîëåçíüþ, ïîòîì è äðóãèìè áîëåçíÿìè è óø¸ë â îáùåì-òî ïîçîðíî.
                          À òû çíàåøü êîãî íèáóäü, êòî çàïèñàë áîëüøå Ýëâèñà?  ìî¸ì àðõèâå, íàïðèìåð îêîëî 1000 ñòóäèéíûõ ïåñåí. Åãî è Çàïïà ñ Äèëàíîì íå îáîãíàëè â ýòîì ïëàíå. Áîëüøå ìîæåò áûòü ðàçâå ÷òî òîëüêî Äæîí Çîðí.
                          Äà êàêàÿ òàì "îìåãà"?? Ðàñêðó÷åííûé àðòèñò êîòîðîãî ðàñêðó÷èâàþò äî ñèõ ïîð.

                          Òèïè÷íî àìåðèêàíñêèè ïðîäóêò.Çà åãî ôèãóðîé ñòîÿëî êó÷à èìïðåññàðèî êîòîðûå äåðæàëè íîñ ïî âåòðó è âîâðåìÿ ïîíÿëè ÷òî ïóáëèêå íóæåí áåëûé ìàëü÷èê ïîþùèè ÷åðíûå ïåñíè òîìíûì ãîëîñîì.
                          Êîãäà ìàëü÷èê Ýëâèñ ïðèøîë íà ñòóäèþ "ñàí ðåêîðäñ" ê Ñýìó Ôèëèïñó è èñïîëíèë íåñêîëüêî ïåñåí, îí åìó âåæëèâî ñêàçàë "èäè ïîãóëÿé ïîêà, ìàñòåðñòâî ïîäøëèôóé, íè÷åãî îðèãèíàëüíîãî â òåáå íåò, ó íàñ òóò ïðóä ïðóäè òàêèõ". È â äàëüíåéøåì íèêàêîé êó÷è íåáûëî. Åäèíñòâåííûì, áåññìåííûì åãî ìåíåäæåðîì îñòàâàëñÿ ïîëêîâíèê Ïàðêåð.
                          óñïåõà äîáèëñÿ â 1956. Ïðèìåðíî îäíîâðåìåííî ñ Áåððè è íàìíîãî ïîçæå Õåéëè.
                          Ïîòðÿñàþùåãî óñïåõà îí äîáèëñÿ î÷åíü áûñòðî. À ê 1956 ãîäó èìåÿ ìèëëèîíû äîëëàðîâ è ïîêëîííèêîâ, äåñÿòêè ìàøèí, âîåííûé êîðàáëü, íåñêîëüêî îñîáíÿêîâ, ñíÿâøèñü â 10-15 ôèëüìàõ... ïîïóëÿðíîñòü åãî ïîøëà íà óáûëü... ïîãîâîðèâ ñî ñâîèì íîâûì ïàðèêìàõåðîì íåîæèäàííî íà÷àë ñåðü¸çíî èíòåðåñîâàòüñÿ äóõîâíîé ëèòåðàòóðîé. ß òóò ïðîñòî åãî òûñÿ÷åñòðàíè÷íóþ áèãðàôèþ ÷èòàþ.

                            Ãðèøà íó òû õî÷åøü ñêàçàòü ÷òî Ïðåñëè ýòî ýòàêèè ñàìîðîäîê òàëàíò ïðèøåäøèè èç Ìåìôèñà è ïðèäóìàâøèè ðîê? È äî íè÷åãî íè÷åãî íå áûëî? Íè áëþçà,íè ðîêíðîëëà?
                            È âåñü ýòîò èíòåðåñ ê "êîðîëþ" äî ñèõ ïîð íå ïîäîãðåâàåòñÿ êó÷åé ëþäåé ãðåþùèõ ðóêè íà åãî èìåíè?
                            Âñþ ýòó ìóçûêó èãðàëè è ïðèäóìàëè çàäîëãî äî Ýëâèñà.Íåò òàì íèêàêîãî ñèìáèîçà áåëîé è ÷åðíîé ìóçûêè.Áåëûì ëþäÿì íóæåí áûë áåëûé ìàëü÷èê èñïîëíÿþùèè ÷åðíóþ ìóçûêó.Âîò òàêîãî ïóáëèêà è ïîëó÷èëà.îñòàâàëîñü òîëüêî ïåòü çàãàäî÷íûì ãîëîñîì äà ñåêñóàëüíî âåðòåòü áåäðàìè.)))

                            " ñòóäèè "Sun Records" îí çàïèñàë äèñê ñ äâóìÿ ïåñíÿìè, ïåðåðàáîòêàìè áàëëàä "My Happiness" è "That's When Your Heartaches Begin". Îí ïðåïîäíåñ ýòîò äèñê â ïîäàðîê íà äåíü ðîæäåíèÿ ìàòåðè, à êîïèÿ åãî îêàçàëàñü â ðóêàõ ïðåçèäåíòà ñòóäèè Ñýìà Ôèëëèïñà, êîòîðûé â òî âðåìÿ èñêàë "áåëîãî ÷åëîâåêà ñ ìàíåðîé ïåíèÿ è ÷óâñòâàìè ÷åðíûõ" è ïîñ÷èòàë, ÷òî íàøåë òàêîå ÷óäî â þíîì Ýëâèñå Àðîíå Ïðåñëè. È åùå êàêîå!  òå÷åíèå îäíîé íåäåëè â Ìåìôèñå è îêðóãå áûëî ïðîäàíî 6 òûñÿ÷ êîïèé. Ðîäèëàñü çâåçäà. Ïîä ðóêîâîäñòâîì íåìåöêîãî ýìèãðàíòà-íåëåãàëà (Andreas van Kuijk), íàçûâàþùåãî ñåáÿ "ïîëêîâíèêîì" Òîìàñîì À. Ïàðêåðîì (îòíîøåíèÿ ñ êîòîðûì ó åãî ïðîòåæå áóäóò äîëãèìè è òÿæåëûìè), þíûé Ýëâèñ ãàñòðîëèðîâàë ïî þãó ÑØÀ è çàïèñàë åùå ÷åòûðå äèñêà.  1955 ãîäó Ïàðêåð çàêëþ÷èë äëÿ ñâîåãî ìíîãîîáåùàþùåãî êëèåíòà êîíòðàêò íà ñóììó $35 000 ñî ñòóäèåé RCA Victor. Çâåçäà ðåãèîíàëüíîãî ìàñøòàáà Ýëâèñ Ïðåñëè âûøåë íà íàöèîíàëüíûé óðîâåíü."

                            Ïðåñëè íå ïåðâîèñòî÷íèê ðîêà,áëþçà è ðîê-í-ðîëëà.Ýòî ðóêîòâîðíîå ñîçäàíèå ÷åðåç êîòîðîãî áåëûå (â îáùåé ìàññå) óçíàëè îá ýòèõ ñòèëÿõ.Íèêàêàÿ îí íå "àëüôà" è äàæå íå "îìåãà".

                            Ñ òàêèì æå óñïåõîì ìîæíî ñ÷èòàòü ÷òî èñêîííî ÷åðíóþ ìóçûêó ðýï (èçâèíèòå ÷òî óïîìèíàþ ýòîò óæàñ!) ñîçäàë è ïðèäóìàë "áåëûé ìàëü÷óãàí" Ýìèíåì.

                              Åñëè áðàòü èñïîëíåíèå èì ÷óæîãî ìàòåðèàëà (òîãäà òåðìèíà "êàâåð" åù¸ íå áûëî), òî è òîãî áîëüøå.

                              Âîîáùå ñïîð áåçïîëåçíûé, ïî-ìîåìó.
                              Òîãäà óæ íàäî êîâûðÿòü ïåñíè, ãîâîðèòü, ãäå ðîê, ãäå íå ðîê, îòêóäà îí íà÷àëñÿ (ñ êàêîé íîòû èìåííî) è ïð.

                              There is much debate as to what should be considered the first rock & roll record. One leading contender is "Rocket 88" by Jackie Brenston and his Delta Cats (in fact, Ike Turner and his band The Kings of Rhythm), recorded by Sam Phillips for Sun Records in 1951.                               Ïðåñëè áûë ïîìèìî ïðî÷åãî ñåêñóàëåí è èìåë êó÷ó áåçóìíûõ äåâî÷åê-ïîêëîííèö. Ýòî âñåãäà ñïîñîáñòâóåò ïîïóëÿðíîñòè àðòèñòà è åãî ðàñêðóòêå â ÑÌÈ. Ïîíÿòíî, ÷òî Áåððè äåâî÷êè ëþáèëè ìåíüøå. À ïî ïîâîäó ðàñêðóòêè - ïî-ìîåìó, â Ïðåñëè âëîæåíî áûëî áîëåå ÷åì äîñòàòî÷íî, íå áåç ó÷àñòèÿ òîãî æå "ïîëêîâíèêà".
